SignalPad
Sixteen pads, four voices, sixteen steps and a synth under the hood. Play the pads, program the dots, hit RUN — or press REC and capture whatever you play.
How to play Signal Pad
Sixteen pads, four voices, sixteen steps and a synth that builds every sound live. Nothing to install and nothing to load. Two minutes here and you can play the whole machine.
That is the whole grid. Rows are voices, columns are variants. On the melodic kits, column A is the root note and D is the highest — the same four columns run across the sequencer underneath.
space run or stop · left/right arrows tempo (hold Shift to jump further) · R dice · C clear · F fill · P panic · M mute · ? this guide · Esc stops everything.01 Play it
The pads are live instruments, not triggers. Hit one and the whole voice is built at that moment — oscillator, envelope, filters and send — so every hit has a slightly different shape to it. Velocity in the control rail sets how hard the pads respond.
02 Change every voice
Mode / Tone swaps the entire kit underneath the same sixteen pads:
Your pattern survives the change — only the sound moves.
03 Change every note
Pattern / Scale is the note set the columns pull from. DARK is minor, NEON is
bright and major, MIAMI adds a wide octave leap, and ACID bends in a flat fifth.
Column A is the root in each case.
The sequencer picks notes from a contour rather than a fixed note per step, which is why a pattern with three dots in it can still sound like a bassline and not a test tone.
04 Build a beat
Sixteen steps, four lanes — each lane lines up with a pad row, so the top lane is your drums and the bottom lane is the noise kit. Steps 1, 5, 9 and 13 are the downbeats and marked slightly brighter.
You can edit while it runs. Changes land on the next pass, so keep it moving.
05 Run it
RUN starts the transport and every lit dot plays in time. Tempo runs from 60 to 168 BPM — drag the vari-speed fader or nudge it with the left and right arrow keys. Delay time follows the tempo, so the echo stays locked to the groove.
PANIC cuts all sound immediately and stops the transport. That is the button for when a take goes sideways.
06 Capture a take
Press REC and the button arms — the dot goes red and the four pips fill as you play.
07 Memory
Stored artifacts live in this browser only, under memory in the sequencer header.
Load plays one back on a loop; Erase removes it for good.
Nothing is uploaded and nothing leaves the page. Signal Pad never talks to a server, so your takes are yours until you clear the browser data.
08 Shape the sound
Eight controls, and they are the difference between a loop and a track.
Try this one: KEYS kit, SPACE high, DRIVE low. Then ACID pattern, DRIVE high, FILTER low. Two completely different machines.
09 Reading the machine
OFFLINE, LIVE, RUNNING, CAPTURING.Take locked
Signal Pad snapped your take to the grid. Name it, then replay it or store it in memory.
